Jorge Rodríguez Castro is a Biology graduate interested in the structural variation and NGS sequencing (Oxford Nanopore). He carried postgraduates studies in the philogeny of the Arion slug, in the group of Sistemática Molecular (Manuel Rey Méndez) at the Dep. of Biquímica y Bilogía Molecular, Faculty of Biology Universidad de Santiago de Compostela. Where he collaborated in projects of marine organisms genetics. He joined CiMUS-USC to explore the marine transmissible cancers, the structural variations in the human cancer, and the 3D chromatin structure. He collaborates in the organization of the Foro dos Recursos Mariños e a Acuicultura das Rías Galegas. His current research is funded by La Caixa Research Health 2022 - Novel mutational mechanisms of somatic retrotransposition in the context of the 3D cancer genome.
